1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy governs the use of the Platero Employee Mobile Application ("platero-app"). Platero provides a corporate meal allowance platform linking employers, employees, and merchants. We are committed to protecting your personal data and privacy in accordance with applicable regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. Data We Collect
To provide the allowance management and payment services, we collect and process several categories of data:
Profile & Account Information
When you are onboarded via your employer's invitation, we store your name, work email address, and account status. This details are necessary to link you with your company's meal allowance policy.
Geolocation Data
We request foreground location permissions for two main purposes: (1) to show you nearby participating merchant partners on the map (where store configurations such as menu, working hours, and photos are displayed to help you discover and visit them), and (2) to verify your location during payment checks to prevent transaction fraud. Location verification runs dynamically only at checkout and is not tracked in the background.
Camera & Media Access
We access your device camera to allow you to scan merchant POS QR codes for payment, and to optionally let you take and upload photos of your meals to share on the Platero community feed.
Security & Biometric Data
If you use FaceID, fingerprint, or a custom PIN for wallet protection, these credentials are authenticated locally on your device via secure operating system integrations. We do not access or store your raw biometric data.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to verify corporate membership, calculate daily meal balances, secure checkouts, prevent fraudulent transactions, display localized merchant maps along with store configurations (menu, working hours, and photos) to enable discovery and restaurant visits, and facilitate community meal shares.
4. Data Sharing & Disclosures
Your employer receives aggregated reports and transactional logs (date, merchant name, amount) for accounting and tax compliance, but they never receive your location coordinates. Merchants receive only the transaction details and order confirmation to authorize payments, without any link to your name or personal profile. We never sell your transaction habits to third-party marketing brokers.
5. Data Security & Retention
We use industry-standard encryption protocols and secure tokens to protect your data during transit and storage. Transactions are validated using time-limited authorization checks. Your data is retained for as long as you are registered as an active employee under your employer's contract, or as required by regulatory compliance.
6. Your Rights
You hold the right to access, rectify, or delete your personal data. You may also withdraw location or camera permissions through your device settings at any time, though this will disable QR payments and merchant location finder features.
